Jurgen Klopp: Celebrations Matter
Fist pumps, chest beating and leaps into the air, Jurgen Klopp loves a good celebration. In fact, one celebration (a saved penalty against Chelsea early in 2017) was so zealous that Herr Klopp even apologized to the fourth official. “No problem”, came the reply, “I like your passion”.
And unless you are on the receiving end of a resounding defeat by Liverpool, it is difficult not to find yourself celebrating a little with Liverpool. Some of the ‘fab four’ attacks by Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané bring to mind some of the heady glory days of the seventies so why not celebrate with them, just as us neutrals did four decades ago.
Lest we forget, a smile was never far away when these Liverpool legends were playing (especially when they scored!):
Kenny The King Dalglish (any comment would be superfluous)
Emlyn Hughes (enthusiasm and energy abounded and rubbed off on everyone around)
Steven Gerrard (a legend among legends)
Bruce Grobbelaar (never scored, but could always be counted on to be celebrating something!)
James Milner (no, not really).
